Superior is one of the most important tanneries in Santa Croce sull’Arno (Tuscany). Our specialty is working with calfskin leather and our clients include many Italian and international luxury brands.

Our tannery was founded in the 1960s as a mom and pop business. Today, the company is a leader in leather production. Firmly rooted in tradition, over the last few years we managed to double our turnover and were able to introduce innovative tech as well as improve the environmental sustainability of our activities. Not only that, we also invested heavily in human capital, hiring new managers and specialized personnel, thus increasing our staff from about 50 employees in 2008 to the current 120.

Stefano Caponi, Managing Director of Superior, has been the driving force behind these results. Under his direction, the company has focused heavily on the combination of innovation and quality as well as the restyling of production lines and staff training.

Each stage in Superior’s history has unfolded around precise cornerstones: quality control, artisan knowledge and the search for perfection. These, together with the huge steps taken in terms of environmental, social and economic sustainability, make our tannery a synonym for luxury and elegance at an international level.
