On October 2nd and 3rd 2019, during the Lineapelle trade fair, the Superior tannery will open its Milanese atelier to debut its collection of F/W 20-21 haute couture leathers. The protagonist will of course be Amazonia, a capsule collection with a distinctly green soul. The name was chosen as a clear reference to current events, to demonstrate that even the leather sector can be sustainable, without the materials losing any of their elegance.
Combining the creativity of haute couture with sustainability has long been the driving force behind our tannery. For us, sustainability is not just an abstract concept, but a daily practice, measurable through the reduced consumption of resources and waste production as well as the characteristics of the final product. The leathers we work with are in fact made using a chrome-tanning process with reduced environmental impact, for a result that is as eco-sustainable as it is high-performance.
The colors of the Amazonia collection also pay homage to the environment, integrating into the general palette of the F/W 20-21 collection, centered on vintage and retro vibes. Beautiful calf and lamb leathers take us back to the 1980s with their dove grey hues, and to the 1970s with an olive green, gold and petroleum palette. All these, combined with burgundy, dolphin, dark-silver pewter and timeless black, give the new Superior collection unparalleled elegance.
